I came across a moving image of a ballerina, and just felt compelled to paint it. The image reminded me of the warmth of the morning, waking up early, before the sun rises and experiencing a sense of abiding hope. With every new day, we are washed by the new mercies of the morning and we can experience an enduring lightness to carry throughout our day.
